Bruises at previous injection sites for over two weeks

I wasn’t sure where to post this. Two weeks ago a bruise showed up on either side where I had done my last pins. There’s a small one one the side where I pinned my MT2 and a large one on the side where I pinned my Reta. They were not from the week they showed up, but the week before. The week they showed up was the week that I started changing sites. These last two weeks I’ve switched sites again and no bruises have appeared. I can’t actually say for sure whether or not I used the site with the bigger bruise to pin MT2, and I’m hoping they aren’t hyperpigmentation. Does anyone else have experience with them lasting this long?
 
I hit a small blood vessel my first pin 2 weeks ago, i still have a pretty big bruise there. Not sure if the bruise appeared immediately or if it took a few days though.

But there was no blood when you pinned where the bruises are?
 
I've had some before, but never this big. Something's wrong here. Is it painful or warm? If so, see a doctor.

You have to be careful not to inject too deeply. Sometimes the needle hits a capillary and causes a drop of blood, but not a bruise this big.

I can't see where it is on your body. Did you inject near your belly button?
 
I find that 'large' injection amounts (over 30units) cause me to bruise - I always try to aim for a shot of no more than 20.

As you can see from my picture, I am something of a delicate flower!
 
Are you using 5/16"-8mm noodles? Contrary to what you might think, they cause fewer ISRs than the 6mm. I also go for 25IU or less and try to miss any capillaries at the injection site.
 
For me it was not angling the needle enough on the skin. Once i started holding the needle like a pencil on injection and keeping that angle like im drawing. The bruising stopped. Something to do with how many skin layers youre breaking at angle versus dead on your test subject. Hope it helps.

To help them heal i read ice it when you first notice the bruising then take hot showers to break up the discoloration.
 
It was that I kept using the same area. This showed up when I increased my Reta dose. The reason I dont think it’s severely abnormal is the other side has a similar but much smaller one and that’s the side that I was using for much smaller MT2 and (briefly) cagri injections. No blood on injection.

Never give a subcutaneous injection within about 2 inches (5 cm) of the navel.

Making sure I leave peps to room temperature before injecting seems to have helped with my bruising. I also now put an ice pack on the site straight afterwards for a minute.
