Hi everyone! Been reading this forum for a couple months. Still trying to navigate how find reliable information. I think I need to engage more with community to get a better understanding on my next steps.

I'm currently on a weekly 12.5 mg dose of tirzepatide from a telehealth pharmacy.

I've been a relatively slow responder, I've lost 15 pounds in about a year. Starting weight 190, current weight 175, goal weight 145. I'm 5'8 female.

I haven't had too many negative side effects from tirzepatide, but I haven't really experienced a significant reduction in appetite. I still wake up hungry and have to resist the urge to eat three meals a day. I would say a decent amount of the weight loss has come from mindfulness, tracking calories and cutting out all snacking and most alcohol.

Part of the weight loss I fear is also muscle loss. The one negative side effects I've had from tirzepatide is that it makes me pretty tired. On one hand the tiredness is nice because I used to struggle to sleep more than 6 hours a night. Now I'm easily averaging 8 hours a night. But on the other hand, ive skipped the gym more frequently since taking the drug because I'm too tired after work.

I want to switch to retatrutide. I've read people are having great results and I'm thinking maybe I could have a stronger appetite suppression at a lower dose of reta and maybe avoid some of the fatigue Im getting from tirzepatide.

Anyhow! I'm open to advice, hearing about your journey and anything else y'all want to discuss!

With the rate of weight that you are losing at, as long as your are still working out, I don't think you should experience very much muscle loss.

My wife was/is on Tirz from a Dr and not the compounded stuff, and she did experience a little fatigue that she thought was from the drug but turns out it wasn't. She is in her early 40's and due to perimenopause (spelling?) it was her hormones being out of whack. After getting checked, she was prescribed Testosterone, very low dose, and another hormone, I can't think of the name right now, and it has done wonders to her energy levels.

Perhaps this is something you should look into. FWIW my wife simply added reta to her current Tirz dose and it is definitely helping with the weight loss.

Thank you for the reply!

I don't think it's perimenopause (I hope not lol I'm only 31)

I've definitely loss some muscle mass in the past year, and I think I gained some fat while I was on the lower doses of tirz. I didn't really feel any appetite suppression until I at 10mg. It's noticable in my glutes in particular but also in my arms.

I could definitely look into getting my hormones tested though. The fatigue definitely wasn't a thing before tirz, I was really struggling previously with a lack of sleep. But you're right, it could be something else too
