Started on May 18th. Conditions were obesity 308lbs, A1c 7.6 and avg morning glucose fasting of 140 (Diabeties using Metformin and Jardiance), Sleep apnea at 10cm pressure with APAP, High LDL at 130 low HDL at 32, Fatty Liver with high AST and ALT.

Started at 1mg Reta 4weeks then 2 four weeks and 4 for the rest. Increased exercise to walking 3 times a week briskly 3.5 to 3.8 mph for an hour each time. Also part of the VA’s (Veteran) MOVE weight loss program. I highly recommend it. They didn’t give me the RETA but the program qualified me for a “slot” in the VA lottery for Zepbound. If you are a Vet this is the only way you can get it through the VA. I wanted the liver fat blasting of RETA so I went grey instead.

Had labs yesterday 8/6 and I made gains and improved on everything.

-Weight 269 lost 39lbs and the WYZE scale does 12 sensors and it is showing lean muscle preserved and loss is fat. Still need a DEXA scan but being consistent on a BIA scale can show you trends.

-A1c was 6.0 and with doctors advice I stopped both Metformin and Jardiance. Morning fasting Glucose is 85 to 92.

-Sleep machine has an auto adjust feature and I reduced the min to 4cm (machine lowest it can do) it kept looking for disturbances and reduced itself to 4cm about 2 weeks ago. Can sleep without but still snoring so for the wife’s sanity I still use it.

-LDL is down and HDL is up. Both still slightly out of range but Improved.

-AST and ALT levels also just slightly out of range so greatly improved on the Fatty Liver

Low back pain and right knee doing much better.

This has been a godsend. The weight loss, food noise gone, no restrictive diet I just eat healthy and normal.

Nice job. What dose did you start seeing the most weight loss’s or was it pretty steady throughout? I’m just starting but I’ll also be taking ghk-cu. When it’s delivered on Monday. You taking anything else also? What part of the move program do you like? They keep offering it to me for PTSD treatment to help me “socialize.” They haven’t sold me on it though.

Move program is pretty solid. Lots of good information, encouragement and advice. It is not a calorie deficit and exercise is all you need program. Not sure what dose worked best. Here is my Shotsy graph.

Great job, so happy for you. And thank you for sharing. Your results are great and fairly common. When people take reta and exercise, they turn there life around. Keep up the momentum and when your ready add some resistance training. Resistance bands are cheap, dont take up much room and are very versitile. Start slow, you don't want an injury. Your results will explode.

Welcome to the first chapter of the rest of your life!

This is great stuff right here! Congrats and I agree with others on adding light resistance.. nothing too crazy , but enough to feel like you are working 🙂

That is a great news. Keep going.

How is your overall diet? You can enhance the results with careful food choice, not just eating less.

Diet is improved without the food noise I am eating much better. Goal weight is 200 so trying to get 200 grams protein mostly from eggs and meat. Carbs from whole vegetables salads and fruits. Some starches like potatoes and rice but limited. No craving for sweets. Yogurt and dairy also included. Trying to get rid of processed foods.

No more McDonald’s snack before dinner.🤣 This is the longest I have ever gone eating just my BMR and staying clean. Seems too easy

Oh and I highly recommend the Yuka app to look foods up. It has really opened my eyes to what I was eating. Tracking food with MyFitnessPal, exercise and sleep and other data with Apple Watch Ultra 3, weight and general body composition with a BIA scale Wyze Ultra Body Scan scale, medical all through the VA and part of the MOVE program with a dietitian and endocrinologist and my primary care Dr,. All of the data from all of this goes into Apple Health and I can see all sorts of trends, lab history for past 15 years etc. Coming from a Nuclear Navy background and building automation and control field I tend to track and trend everything.

It was never could I lose weight in the past or doing what I should do it was always could I make it last past a month or so without caving in to the voice in my head. With all the improvements on RETA in my health and diet I think that getting rid of all the other Meds for this one is a no brainer and I will stay on some form of GLP1 for the rest of my life.

You've achieved almost twice the weightloss I have in a similar timeframe, I've been using tirz but I'm certain your efforts have doubled your results, I've been sedentary due to other health issues and ankle trouble, just today I started moving with intention again.

I was lucky that sleep apnea went away within the first week of trying tirz, all my labs have improved.

Really admire your self‑discipline and perseverance. Your well‑thought‑out, detailed plan is truly inspiring!

That is imprecise. "whole" food doesn't mean much in terms of calorie. You gotta be meticulous with calorie counting.

I see people say this from time to time. I absolutely LOVE that I don't have to have any kind of meticulous relationship with food now. I'm not at goal, even after 13 months, but I can never go back to that. One of the biggest benefits for me is realizing how much of my brain power was spent on food. It's like I have an extra lobe now. Never going back.
