Need to cut back on supplements

Help! The amount of supplements I take is getting way out of hand. Currently I subq Klow, Reta, NAD, 5 amino 1Mq and AOD.

In addition I also take a plethora of oral supplements that is just getting out of hand and I need to cut it way back. My oral supplements are whey protein, Omega 3, glucosamine, magnesium, glycine and. NAC, collagen peptides, BCAAs and creatine.

Because of the Reta I feel like I lack in my micro nutrients and I’m trying to pill pop my way out of it. Any ideas on cutting back? I’ve gotten to a point where it would have been much cheaper to be a crack head.

I’d swap the bcaa’s for a multivitamin for your micronutrient needs. Unpopular opinion alert sorry, but I’d cut way back on the peptides… besides reta. Wishful thinking and strong placebo effects… but hey I’m no expert…and neither is anyone else on here. Good luck with whatever you decide to do 👍🙂

You say they all started for a reason and that reason is still present. How are we to refute that?

Good question. In order to refute my “needs” I’ll need to invest in extensive bloodwork for biomarkers not typically covered by insurance. I haven’t checked into that yet but will soon.

I started taking Glucosamine for my joints due to injury from ACL surgery and achy joints from age and HITT workouts. You may be right about it being a waste of money. I’ve been taking them for a long time. Many years.

I’m taking NAC together with Glycine to help my body produce more glutathione which I need for antioxidants benefits. Detox. Liver detox etc.

Creatine to help with protein synthesis since I take quite a bit of protein supplements and trying to build muscle by strength training 3-5 days a week.

I take BcaAs mostly for the electrolytes they have but also to help with protein synthesis and muscle growth.

I get my Labcorp requisitions from www.fitomicslabs.com . I get some variety of blood work done most months while I’m in the transient stage dialing in TRT and tracking my weight loss.

Too much? I don't know if you're taking enough. You need to pump up those rookie numbers.

Only because you asked, I would keep the whey, omega-3, magnesium, glycine, and creatine, and drop the rest.

That said, I personally take around 20 oral supplements a day, so I’m not against pill-popping if the supplements are useful and not harmful.

IMO you’re not taking too much, if each thing truly has a purpose. I take 7 peptides right now, about 10 vitamins and supplements, including fiber powder, creatine powder, and greens concentrate. I eat probiotic yogurt and konjac jelly. It’s not uncommon to take a lot of things if you’re into either bodybuilding or wellness.

I get the logic, but personally I would just take glutathione directly rather than relying on precursors. I find it much more noticeable that way.

BCAA and electrolyte blends are usually overpriced for what they offer. For muscle protein synthesis, you’re already taking whey and hopefully getting additional protein from real food as well. And for actual muscle growth, progressive and consistent resistance training is key; no supplement will achieve that for you.
