There has been an uptick over the past couple of weeks of people reporting that they have been scammed on purchases made from Chinese vendor websites.
With few notable exceptions, the vast majority of Chinese vendors do not have ecommerce websites for placing orders!
When placing an order with a Chinese vendor, it's always best to use their established WhatsApp, Telegram, or email contact. For sponsoring vendors here, the contact information they post using their official account (with the corresponding "Sponsor" badge) is typically the most reliable method. For other vendors, it's best to double-, triple-, and quadruple-verify their contact information before initiating contact.
Even for the handful of vendors who do operate ecommerce websites, it's still better to place orders directly with a sales rep since that can provide better communication, answers to testing, ordering, and shipping questions, negotiating pricing, etc. While you may feel more "comfortable" ordering from a website, scammers take advantage of that comfort to defraud people just like you! Remember that you are not shopping at Amazon, the "convenience" of a website is not necessarily a good thing.
Be careful out there!
