Just made another purchase in Trust Wallet (via Moonpay) and got hosed again in the details. Long story short, you pay a network fee, moonpay fee and Trust fee. This comes out of the total and it's not cheap. Then, in my case, you are the proud owner of some Solana but you need USDC. Convert to USDC and lose some more. Then, if you are unlucky like me, you realize you have come up short and you have to rinse and repeat -> I.e. buy again and convert again. Then send and I find I have to add $.05 to the USDC total to not short as well as 'gas.'

I am thinking that I can predict the Moonpay and Trust fees better (network fee is flat) so that I won't have to make the second purchase but I can't help but notice that I spent over $25 in fees on this single buy. I don't think that is terrible but I don't think it's great either. It has me thinking hard about my (mostly un-investigated) crypto purchasing alternative NDAX. I got the Trust app to work first and just kind of left NDAX on read.

I've probably just done this enough times now that I'm noticing the finer details. Anyone have any experience with Trust and/or NDAX?

Have you read through the pinned-post guide at the top of this Crypto Corner section of the forum? It's multistep, and you still have to estimate lossiness via fees, which is frustrating, but it's among the cheapest, safest methods.

Great guide for those who can have PayPal. We used it for years, then it started to fail to make payments, then stopped working altogether. A common experience in Canada I think, particularly for those who bank with a credit union.
