Don’t panic. Go see a nephrologist, they’ll run some more tests on you. Cystatin C and a uACR test besides others. If you do have kidney issues, there are treatments you can take to slow the decline like SGLT2 inhibitors. The problem with the kidneys is that they don’t hurt when their function declines. But as a person who’s mother is on dialysis, please at least hear them out and go see a specialist. Good luck

I’d be damned if I would waste my time going to a specialist when for $40 I could test:
Creatinine
Cystatin C
eGFR (Creatinine)
eGFR (Creatinine + Cystatin C)
Urine Creatinine
Urine Total Protein
Urine Protein/Creatinine Ratio (uPCR)
Urine Albumin
Urine Albumin/Creatinine Ratio (uACR)
Here's my creatinine levels by date, you can see when I started taking creatine, and when I stopped.
And my cystatin C:
My default/baseline labs I get ran almost any time I have blood drawn are:
CBC with Differential
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP)
Hemoglobin A1c
Lipid Panel
Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)
Insulin
C-Peptide
hs-CRP (High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein)
IGF-1 with Z-Score
Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase (GGT)
If it's time to check my TRT labs, the default list for that is the baseline plus:
Testosterone, Total (LC/MS)
Testosterone, Free
Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG)
Estradiol, Sensitive
Dihydrotestosterone (DHT)
PSA (Total ± % Free)
As an adjunct to my testing in a couple weeks (Baseline + TRT), I'm also running these for a periodic update, or for specific reasons (like ferritin and iron because I donated last month to lower my hematocrit).
Ferritin
Iron and TIBC
Free T3 (Triiodothyronine)
Uric Acid
Vitamin B12 and Folate
Magnesium, RBC
Cystatin C with eGFR
Homocysteine
Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)]
TSH + Free T4
Complete Urinalysis
Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy
Urine Albumin/Creatinine Ratio (uACR)
Thyroid Antibodies
