I have started to get some of the Allodynia/dysesthesia sides from my Reta, mostly feelings of dysesthesia. Does anyone else sorta enjoy it? I don't know if it gives me feelings that the medication is working or what it is, but like I said-I kinda like it.

When it first happened and was minor, kinda yeah. It also seemed to increase instances of frisson, especially when listening to music. For a week or two though it was getting to be too much, and persistent.

Luckily it seems to have backed off to just a little bit the day after pinning. So it’s back into good feelz land.

Can't say as I enjoyed the feeling--it made sleeping harder. This side effect, coupled with poor appetite suppression is what drove me away from Reta and back into the arms of Tirz. But I take a small dose of Reta every so often now just to stay in the game. I hope to return to Reta at some point as I understand that the allodynia will abate on its own after a while. If and when the allodynia becomes bothersome to you, people have suggested Magnesium, Guaifenesin, and electrolytes as possible mitigation measures. I can't vouch for them on my own though. Enjoy it for as long as you can!

allodynia: pain resulting from a stimulus (such as a light touch of the skin) which would not normally provoke pain.

dysesthesia:

1. any impairment of the senses, especially of the sense of touch.

2. a condition in which light physical contact of the skin causes pain.

I've noticed this this last week and I'm not the biggest fan haha. It's a 'painful' sensitive.

Hoping it goes away, but I'm still at 2mg & about to go up to 3mg/4mg tomorrow.

I know what you mean about the allodynia, I kinda like it - maybe it's because it gives me a sense that the peptide is "working".

Reminds me of a vitamin I used to take that causes skin flushing so maybe it's a bit of nostalgia too.

Just started to experience the dysesthesia this week after I pinned on Tuesday. For sure the most sensitive on that Wednesday and it has calmed down throughout this week. Not gone yet by any means and definitely not pleasant. It’s not unbearable to the point where I’d even consider stopping the medication but I don’t enjoy it.

Have you seen this continue for you? Or did your body just adjust and it went away eventually?

There is a good forum screenname there somewhere.

We have a member by that name, and she has it in her signature that it's due to her eyeglasses business (I think?); I wonder if there's a backstory on why that signature was needed?

I wouldn't call mine pain...but definitely a heightened skin sensitivity. Almost feels like a constant tingle or even like my skin is crawling. I have grown to like it for the most part. I did have a sports massage with scraping and cupping the other day and the skin sensitivity made it bloody hell!
