Bac water ph

I know there is a lot of talk about bacteriostatic water, but I haven't found any reference values for pH.

I bought bac water with a pH of 5.7; is that suitable for most peptides, or could it cause problems for some?

Thanks, then I'll buy some pH strips to confirm; unfortunately, it's a bit difficult for me to get Hospira.

Just a quick note on testing strips: please keep in mind that not all strips are the same. Some are designed for different types of liquids, and many standard water-testing strips do not cover the specific pH ranges required for bacteriostatic water.

When choosing strips, look for products that come in a sealed container and cover a range from approximately 4.0 to 9.0, preferably with increments of 0.5 pH. As a reminder, the safe range is 4.5–7.0. If the pH drops below this, it indicates the solution is becoming acidic; once it hits the 4.0 range, it is considered unsafe and the preservative strength is likely diminishing. On the other hand, if the pH rises toward 7.0 or higher, it typically suggests that the solution has been contaminated by the container.

Okay, so as I understand it, when the peptides turn into a gel, the pH is too high?

Most of these peptides work well with a 4.5-7.2 ph. Cagri is all over the place on ph level.
 
In most cases, a physiological pH is better. Around 7.3-7.4, as in kwikpen, for example. Except for certain peptides that are harder to dissolve or that form a gel at certain pH levels. Best practices can be found in the forum threads.

You can also confirm the isoelectric point using AI: ask for references to avoid hallucinations. The isoelectric point reference and target pH are listed in the Tirz, Reta, and Sema patents. For example, the Reta's PI is estimated to be less than 5, so a higher pH is better; around 6 is okay.
