Have you heard about the new medication from Lilly Brenipatide. That one is a GLP1 specifically designed for addiction. Have you heard about it or even tried it already? It's in Phase 3 of the clinical trials and looks quite promising

LY3537031

looks interesting

Brenipatide (LY-3537031) is an investigational once-monthly subcutaneous dual GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist developed by Eli Lilly and Company. Unlike metabolic-focused sister peptides, it is specifically optimized for central nervous system and psychiatric indications, currently in Phase 3 trials for alcohol use disorder and bipolar disorder. [1, 2]

Mechanism and Design

    • Dual agonist targeting GLP-1 and GIP receptors simultaneously.
    • Engineered with a backbone modification providing an extended half-life for once-monthly dosing.
    • Optimized for brain and reward-circuitry penetration rather than primary weight loss. [1, 2]

Current Clinical Trials

    • Phase 3: Alcohol use disorder, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder.
    • Phase 2: Asthma, schizophrenia, and smoking cessation relapse prevention.
    • Phase 1: Obesity, metabolic disorders, and liver conditions. [1]

If you are looking for specific trial enrollment details or safety data for brenipatide, please let me know which condition you are interested in.

My first question was going to be "Will this drug curb my addiction to buying peptides?"

Then I realized my brand new 400% higher student loan payments will take care of that for me. 😭

But in all seriousness, if it can do for addictions more than what tirz did for my relationship to alcohol, this sounds amazing. I just hope they make the price point something the non-profits and health orgs can afford to give out to people whose lives have been ruined and upended by addiction.

2.5mg, pretty much as soon as I started. I've gone from 1-2 beers a day/12 a week to less than 6 a month, except for social occasions every other month...I can drink 4/day during a wedding or brunch weekend. I can't tell a difference in tolerance because I now space out social drinks to about 1/hr. so I also no longer have the "3 drinks in--let's make this feeling last FOREVERRRR!" feeling which would inevitably lead to more drinks and hangovers. It was an unexpected side effect, and one that I very much enjoy! I also am choosing lower APV beers (Corona Familiar vs Flying Dog Raging Bitch).
