Enclomiphene instead of test?

I'm 46. I did about a year of TRT when I was 44-45, and my levels went up to where they should be, but my estrogen went a little high and I got bad acne on my chest. After I moved, I switched to Enclomiphene. It took about 6-8 months for my levels to go back up again, but they're good now and I have NO side effects anymore. Also, it turned out to be a tad cheaper ($150/mn vs $50/week [$216/mn] for TRT). However, I was able to pay for TRT on my FSA card, but my insurance company has Enclomiphene listed as a fertility drug, so won't let me use my FSA.

You can get it even cheaper than that, there are a few threads here on enclomiphene where people talk about where to find it (I'm on enclomiphene too).

I just can’t see why anyone would choose enclomiphene over test but that’s just me. I’m prescribed 225mg/week and it makes me feel like I’m 18.

TRT can cause acne, shrink your testicles, lower your sperm count, etc. Also, the body can start thinking that it doesn't need to make its own T anymore, and just stop production completely.

I’ve never suffered acne in 20 years of using steroids hcg keeps the balls plump and I don’t plan on getting off trt ever. The sperm count part is true though lots of people conceive while on but if there is an issue there is often further drugs required to assist in that (hcg, hmg, clomid etc). The injections are far better for performance and your physique.

Hey man, you do you. You asked why anybody would choose Enclomiphene and I told you why. If TRT works for you, go for it!

Usually only at higher doses, but that's where PCT comes in such as Hcg.

I’m going to give my neutral take. 225 mg of test will make most men feel better than enclo. I mean, if I felt I could, l would take 250 a week (or 500). Now by 30 for me, I couldn’t PCT (had 3 kids super easy though). Before enclo (or it was known much), doctors often prescribed clomid and/or HCG as an alternative to test. So it is really a personal choice to me. I was never the, let me try some of this crème guy.
