Anyone know a good place to buy filters specifically 0.22 in the UK or EU

I'd be interested to know the same. I've ordered these from Amazon, but they come from China.

https://amzn.eu/d/0gDwVHvS

There's also here, but again they're coming from China.

Sterile Syringe Filters,PES Membrane 0.22μm Pore Size,13mm Diameter,10 – Ks-Tek https://share.google/WgrBO7WxdguJnBYie

I'd like to find somewhere in the UK to order them from though.

Those things are huge, and will keep a bunch of reconned product back, unless you flush with BAC or air. No 13mm available?

Ideally 4mm filters or 13mm will do as well if you can't find 4mm. 0.22mm is correct as is PES.

4mm filters are for volumes of 1.5ml and under. 13mm are far more useful.

I use PES 13mm 22um filters for filtering reconsituted peptides

And PTFE 25mm for filtering Benzyl Alcohol (due to large volume)

PTFE is far more stable when dealing with Pure alcohol

both from brand Biomed Scientific and availible from Amazon

I have used these filters from Biomed Scientific previously and they appear sterile and work perfectly.

I am currently working through a batch of Membrane Solutions 13mm 0.22um PES filters and I have to say i much prefer these. The quality is of a higher standard and I can rest assured they are definitely sterile. Buying in a box of 100 also means they work out at ~£0.46 each.

Thanks for this. I'd actually found this supplier a couple of days ago, so it's good to have some feedback from someone using them already. I think I'll pull the trigger when I get paid this week. Although, I'm quickly running out of space for all of my peptide associated ancillary equipment. 🤣

I didn't know that 4mm filters were only for volumes of 1.5ml and under were. Can you please explain why? Because, I am using them also for 2 or 3 ml volumes. I just want to know if I am doing something wrong?

Your welcome. I know it may be silly when the lyophilized powder comes form China, but I do try my best to obtain supplies from outwith China if I can, simply for the fact I like to ensure they are 100% sterile and meet industry standards etc. Since its being used to administer a substance directly into your body, it could well save you from a nasty infection or even the worst after all.

The 4mm filters have a very small surface area, about 0.1 cm² actually. Trying to push large volumes of liquids through them which may contain microscopic particulates, undissolved peptide fragments, or salt aggregates would quickly coat and block the filter membrane. Trying to them force more liquids through could cause the membrane to rupture, meaning your precious peps would no longer be filtered and you may not even realise this since you cant physically see the membrane.

Strick to 13mm filters for liquids up to 10ml and you'll be golden!

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't have any issues until now. But I will keep it in mind. Will stay filtering up to 2ml with 4mm filters. But will also consider using 2 filters for 3ml until I my supply ends and order 13mm.

Good price. 100 count is about identical what I pay for 100/box of 13mm Biologix shipped, here in the US.

I'm hearing contradicting information. Saw a youtube video of someone filtering 3ml vial with 4mm. However, people here are saying max is 1.5ml?

Manufacturer's guidelines range from 1.5-2ml. Can you push more through it if you want to? Yes, of course you can. But as @boytres explained in his/her excellent post earlier in the thread there are risks associated with that.

Personally, I just use 13mm filters for everything, which saves buying multiple different sizes. Some people like 4mm filters, many just can't be arsed with them.

At the end of the day it's entirely up to you if you want to use them and how much liquid you want to push through. No one's ever been arrested for not following manufacturer guidelines. 😂
