Last year I was rushed to the hospital with chest pain. I knew It wasn’t a heart attack, but my daughter preferred a physician’s opinion over mine. I’m fine, btw.
I use a power wheelchair (although I can stand for a few minutes at a time) and hadn’t bothered to weigh myself in years. The hospital put me at 215, which put my BMI at exactly 30.
I lost 25 pounds over the next six months without really doing anything besides drinking a little less (mostly cut whisky).
My weight didn’t move again until I started Reta. I’m down another ~12 pounds and hit a BMI of 24.9 yesterday.
BMI doesn’t tell you everything and I actually have a ways to go, but it felt pretty damn good when I saw that number.
