As the title says stacking, is it positive or negative?

Obviously people do this, but are there potential draw backs to doing it? It's being done because X(GLP) isn't working for them either appetite curbing or continuation of weight loss etc, so they add another hoping that does it and I've seen it with all the GLPs. I asked a person on another platform why they chose to add an additional GLP instead of adding or at least trying Cagrilintide first? I didn't get a logical answer.

I haven't seen any studies(if there are I'd love to read them) other than Mono-GLP use? Just in opinion only- it would seem that it would have benefits short terms IF side effects are tolerable. Those side effects possibly would continue and likely get worse. Lastly in the longer term, it would likely??? be more negative overall once your goal had been achieved and you now want to maintain weight ie;(insulin resistance/metabolic function etc). I don't know anyone personally & I have not done this, these are simply thoughts & or opinions.

Any thoughts, feedback or person experience is highly appreciated.

Thanks much

There are clinical trials ongoing looking at combinations. Tirz + elora looks especially promising. Sema + cag, less so. I suppose if negative side effects outweighed positives, the studies would shut down. There are potential drawbacks when using any drug. Choosing not to use cagri is common; its rep has lost some of its shine.

Informally, this site is filled with accounts of individuals stacking GLP1s, cagri, etc. They're not hard to find. Whether it's positive or negative is like asking, "Are Gala apples good?" Individuals have preferences.

I’m not sure if you’re asking about stacking a GLP with another GLP, or stacking in general. I commend you for being new and starting a thread with a bit of meat to it.

My general theory is less is more as long as it works. The cost of more peptides is hopefully fairly low.

I added Sema to my 18mg/week of Reta to reduce food noise and smoke a creatine fueled (not real) weight loss stall. I have plenty of basically anything to try; I picked Sema because it’s commonly used but I’d not experienced it (I’d taken Tirz and Reta). I literally just wanted food noise suppression, which I figured GLP1 would provide. I have Cagri and Elora, but if a tickle of Sema would get the job done I could preserve my amylin agonizing for a future experience if needed.

Sema worked. It had mild sides in absolute terms, but the most obvious relative sides compared to taking 5mg of Tirz or up to 20mg of Reta. Not a bad experience, but I did figure out my personal, current tolerance is ~.125mg 2x weekly at that level of Reta.

I went from 223lb on 6/11 to 200lb on 8/5. Some of that will be the water coming off from stopping creatine supplementation.

My last dose of either GLP1 was 8/3. I’ve been letting my system calm down (Sleep and RHR) after dropping 29% of my weight in 34 weeks. I expected hunger/food noise to come flooding back, but it’s been amazingly quiet overall. I hit a new low yesterday at 199lb. I still have ~20lb to go; I plan on taking 4mg Friday (2x weekly) even if I’m still basically flat on food noise and appetite. My levels haven’t been this low since late February, I started Reta on 1/10.

That’s my take, my why, and my current outcome.

I'm an avid reader of anything/everything glp, and I'm still hesitant to add another glp to my existing tirz. I'm down 50 pounds now but still have a chunk to go, and it's sure tempting but tirz has been such a good experience - zero side effects at all - that I just prefer to stick with that forever.

That said, yeah, I have an In Case of Emergency Break Glass kit of reta sitting in the freezer. I tried to add Cagri at some point and found out I'm mildly allergic to it. I'm keeping my eye on Elora and Maz, but in the meantime trudge onward with Tirz. I just personally don't WANT to be doing multiple jabs. I like keeping it simple, for as long as that is possible.

Im also not sure I believe the whole receptor burnout thing people worry about, mostly because there is zero science supporting that theory, so far. So does stacking GLPs increase the odds of that happening? As yet unanswered aspect of this discussion.

Yeah was not talking about an amylins. Was talking GLP & GLP. Apparently when I was writing and posting my notes to here I left it out. I

This is a logical approach. You mention at the end the receptor burn out. I have a feeling this is very true but not in the same way as say Mu or GABA receptor, to were you fuck with them maliciously your on for it. In terms of action and what they do- Sema is Q, Tirz is RS and Reta is TUV and they already have other experimental in the pipeline. I find it absolutely fascinating and you don't find this(not that I've seen) in any other drug. Each company has released there's but there not done perfecting the right version & yet still have people achieving results, saving life's and less harmful. Crazy.

That awesome! I was specifically talking about combining/taking two GLPs at once instead of trying as you stated one of many amylins. There's plenty of of both people taking amylin+GLP(that's studied) but was more concerned about GLP+GLP. awesome work again 👍

Interesting - thanks for the post -very informative- and congrats on the huge weightloss.

I'm stalled on my reta - just fighting food noice - cravings actually.

I was thinking of taking tirz with it - I'm on a low dose of reta - 2mg twice a week - 4mg total/wk

It looks from your graph you were splitting your dosings up twice per week also ?

And you found that a very small amount .125mg of sema x 2 per week killed the cravings ??

It’s madness. Some people on here have a high risk tolerance and eager to experiment. I personally find it strange and possibly harmful to stack 2 glp1 ra (Sema+reta, tirz+reta..etc). I find it more logical to first go up to the max tested/tolerated dose and afterwards if more is needed to stack a different MOA (cagri/elora). When is more needed? What is the most optimum weight loss rate ? Hard to answer when there’s no medical supervision…

I split almost everything.

.25mg of Sema hit like a ton of bricks, you can see my delayed Reta dose/hiccup in the Reta chart. I figured I’d take .25mg 2x weekly but that would have been a ride.

The simple solution for you is to take more Reta.

This site doesn’t seem like your crowd, but enjoy your risk averse medical supervision for grey market peptide utilization.

You chose sema as you'd never had any tolerance to it correct ??? - so it would hit harder than the tirz which you said you had used before and did prob have some tolerance to correct (you mentioned consider taking 5mg of triz)

Nope, and nope.

I don’t have tolerance concerns with anything.

I’d never taken Sema, wanted to give it a whirl, so I did. It did fine. Stacking Tirz would have been fine too, and probably less sides.

I was taking 5mg of Tirz when I moved to Reta.

With so many of these threads, both recently, and over the years.

You tend to hear the same arguments that, to me, don't make a lot of sense.

If you are on Reta, and increase the dose, you are increasing all 3: GLP1, GIP, and Glucagon

So if you do not increase the dose, just add Sema, you are increasing the portion that benefits from the GLP1, without adding the other 2 (GIP and Glucagon)

Basically one "receptor" difference than just taking more Reta, only impacting 1 of the active ingredients.

Allowing you to benefit from the GLP1 advantages on the below diagram.

It seems to make a lot of sense that you could mix and match however you like with Reta without adding any "New" active ingredients.

I think a lot of people who offer negative opinions about stacking glps (who have not themselves stacked glps) have not done a lot of research about the actions and relative strengths of the different agonists.

I do not mean to come across as if I "know", it is simply a theory or maybe hypothesis?

I mean if you up your dose aren't you just doing the same thing as stacking? just different strengths. More reta is just more of all that is in all 3, obviously in different numbers.

My only caveat would be: is there even a reason to.

I am super lucky, that I responded well, we are finding out more and more how these different peps act differently with people. I was ready to stack if I needed but wanted to wait until it was my only choice due to stall.

It is just my opinion at this point based on what appears to be easy math.

I would love to hear other opinions based on the above "theory".

Considering adding Reta to my tirz just for the extra liver fat burning it provides. But there is an ongoing study about tirz and liver fat so maybe the difference is nominal. We’ll see. There’s more and more research going about them all and I bet it will include combos.

For now my Reta kits remain in the freezer because tirz works great for me, I’m within 10 pounds of my goal, and I’ve heard horror stories of people jumping around on these things and then finding out after that the old one doesn’t work as well as it did before they switched.
