I was wondering what reta dosage you guys started with and how much weight you guys lost in the first month or two. So far I am past 3 weeks on 2mg each each week and have lost about 11lbs.

You sound like a super responder, most loose 1 to 1 1/2 a week starting out at low dosesKelloggs1307 said:

Update: Its actually 13 lbs. I went from 164 to 151 lbs now. My strength has not gone down but I definitely tire out so I think my muscle mass is conserved but my stamina dropped a lot.CNCCurrency said:

I also got on ritalin and wellbutrin recently for adhd so that also curbs my appetite a lot and may be leading to this loss in weightCNCCurrency said:

Hmm, now that's interesting. Never thought of Ritalin as helpful in weight loss? Maybe it gives an additional ability to focus? Or could it have a synergistic effect?Kelloggs1307 said:

That seems like a bunch in a month, but what do I know.Medex said:
I'm down 25lbs. Started reta on 02/02, at 2mg. Learned a hard lesson about meal size and gastric emptying 48 hours later. Over the following 3 weeks I dropped to 1.2mg and titrated up to 1.6mg, and finally jumped up a whole mg this week to 2.5mg.

I agree. That tough lesson I learned two days after starting gave me about a 9.5lb head start that I didn't ask for. But I'm not complaining. Still, I'm losing about 3lbs/week. I check my muscle mass each time I weigh in, and apart from some initial muscle loss that first week, I'm holding pretty steadyBNLFL said:
I started at 2mg for 4 weeks, titrated to 4mg for 4 weeks, so 8 weeks in I'm down right around 22lbs that works out to an average 2.75lbs/week. Doing 1 more 4mg tomorrow morning then going to 5mg. That leaves me two 5mg in this vial.

Can you please be more specific about this "hard lesson"? I just started with my first dose of 1mg, and I tend to fast with large meals between for weight loss (also drinking my homemade electrolyte water throughout the day and taking vitamins/supps). Not sure if this is a bad idea on reta or notMedex said:

6 1/2 months minus 92lbs. 25 to go!WLBLD said:
Started the 17th w 1mg Tirz (to make sure I started low), next was 1.67, then decided to change over to Reta Sat .5 (low again to make sure). With eating very well so far only lost 3lbs (yes I know its low doses). Going up to 1mg Reta next. Have 50lbs to loose so I need to start moving up!

That's my plan, maintenance dose till the endghreid said:
kind of scary. they just published a study looking at discontinuation of GLP-1 after reaching maintenance weight loss and the average weight gain after 12 months was 65-70% of the original weight loss. Life long pinning?
