Hello all!

I've been reading about peptides on various forums for months now, especially Reta and its various benefits on top of the weight loss I am looking for. I am 5'6" F at a stable 150lbs (down from 160) and cannot seem to drop the last 15-20 pounds I want to lose no matter what I do. I feel I understand enough about the substance itself to want to commit, but I feel so in the dark about how to actually start. I guess I am finally posting to try and get some guidance or certainty on this process, and some accountability to actually nut up and do it.

TIA and nice to meet you!

P.S. my username is based on the fact that I love to collect charm magnets from aquariums I visit 🙂

Congrats at your bravery -- being willing to try despite being terrified! From what I've learned, what you need to be ready to begin is 1) identify a source and buy some peptide(s); get comfortable with the math, so you'll know how to reconstitute a vial and how much to draw in the syringe before injecting; having an idea of how to shoot safely (e.g., alcohol prep pad on your skin and vial top. I'm not sure how much certainty you can have, but you can definitely increase the odds by ordering directly from the manufacturer. The trade-off there is the cost.

Is there a particular step you have questions about? I'd be happy to tell you what I know. Welcome, and best of luck!

I’m in the same boat with not being able to lose the last 15 lbs no matter what I did, so I jumped right in without much research. Bad idea lol. The backstory to your username is cool 🙂

I can definitely relate to that feeling. Those last 15 to 20 pounds are often the hardest because your body tends to resist further weight loss after you've already made good progress. It can be frustrating when you're doing everything that used to work and the scale just refuses to move 😀

Welcome! I too was once in the very same position and I’m still continuing my journey of education and weight loss. There are many different avenues and a lot to learn. I have been lurking on this forum for well over the last year before I formally joined.

For me personally, I started with compounded medications after insurance, dropped my ability to get name brand. I started on GLP-1 and was on that for several months before being introduced by a coworker to peptides and specifically the GLP-2.

The guts to switch to peptides came from someone I trusted using them with excellent results. My other half is a medical professional, and I had consulted various people before starting the peptide journey.

With everything there is an inherit risk, but that also goes for namebrand and prescription medication hence the list of side effects. Only you can decide which avenue is best for you. In initially seems like a lot, and before you dive into something, especially with scammers and such, I would recommend grabbing a notepad and reading through this forum.

You will notice a lot of common/consistent things, both with peptides, methods, vendors, etc. It was very fuzzy to me when I first got on the forum and I started making a list of what I kept seeing pop-up from there. I started cross referencing telephone numbers, email address is, social media sources as you will find some operate on specific platforms and others do not this does not eliminate the risk, but you can definitely find a pattern and like many have sit on here if the information has not been flagged and it’s relatively consistent. You’re probably headed in the right direction.

Being terrified is good in my opinion. this is a risky business.

If it will lead you to do extensive research, and to verify everything you receive before injecting it - you'll only benefit from it.

me being terrified led me not to try to "save" some bucks on BAC water - which turned out to be absolutely a blessing.

I think we've all been a little scared, so take your time, get well informed, and decide what's right for you...good luck, stay healthy and welcome

Hello, welcome to the forum. It is okay to be scared and unsure. If you are not on any peptides. The forum has so many headings with reta, cagri and other peptides for weight loss and guidance from people all over the world.

Are you looking to get started on taking a peptide or are you having a squizz to learn and research ?

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I am comfortable with the idea of administering due to medications present in my household, it it step 1 part 1 that you mentioned that I am worried about. Newbies aren't allowed to discuss it 🙊

Thank you, these are some good points about research.

Due to the fact that I'm not actually overweight, I do not qualify for anything through insurance. I'm also not looking for the effects of long term usage of a GLP-1, just a short term cheat code for 15 pounds I think (Reta seems to also help with other health biomarkers, which would be nice). I am curious also about 'microdosing' after the weight loss for maintenance for a while after, since I've read that it can help with lengthening the effects on food noise and metabolism.

I'm trying to start. So far I've learned about sites to acquire all the extra materials, I've read a bunch of testimonials and advice, and scoped out the vendor threads. I'm scared of making some sort of Bitcoin wallet and actually making a purchase 🙈

Ooh most vendors will accept other payment methods. Not sure if I can mention then but ask them about others that are not crypto. You don't have to do something you aren't comfortable with.
