This few past years has been an educational journey on many fronts, for myself, my cat*, and my family. I have always been an active person, running, working out, eating relatively healthy ( haven’t had soda, juice, or fast food in 10+ years). Even being active and watching calories and macros, I’ve yo-yo weight wise for a while. A few years back I test my A1C at work ( part of an instrument to instrument correlation). I was shocked my A1C was at 5.9 ( pre-diabetes range). So I took a serious look at my workouts, my weight, my activity, my food, and calories. I was able to loose roughly 20lbs and got my A1C to 5.4 (tested by my doctor, they were not concerned).
My A1C and weight proceeded to yo yo since the “wake-up” call. My doctor changed and the new one listened to me. I was able to get on ozempic for 2 months before that was cut off, and they said I didn’t have weight problem and my A1C was fine
.
Since then I’ve been suck at 1200 calories and miserable. A just over a month ago friend mentioned peptides. And that started a whole new world of information, educational research, and the usual chaos of a deep dive into a new topic.
At the end of May my A1C was 5.8. I started on 1mg of Reta, and now I am at 2mg.
Im glad to have found this group.
Thank you
*PS. Just to clarify, I am not using or looking to use peptides for my cat. I went on an educational journey for her as well. She has CKD.
