Hey ya’ll! Just some background on me: I’ve been struggling with weight gain my entire life and I’ve tried everything (phentermine, 75 hard, keto, Jenny Craig, Skinny Sekret, you name it I’ve done it!) and have ALWAYS yo-yoed back to where I didn’t wanna be. I believe I show a lot of PCOS/PMOS symptoms (cystic acne, insomnia, extreme lethargy, extremely painful period without IUD, extreme sleepiness after meals etc) and will be getting labs done soon to prove my theory. Just haven’t had the funds yet to do so unfortunately because the medical system is wack and health insurance is a joke.
I’ve brought it up to a gyno before but was immediately dismissed because I “didn’t have ENOUGH scarring” even though I was there for a burst ovarian cyst! I mean to say I’ve been dismissed by doctors before but I’m tryna look out for me at the end of the day and I know something is not right. I really do think I’m struggling from PMOS related insulin resistance, because even though I’m doing everything I can right (protein, exercise 6x/week, creatine, strength training) changes aren’t happening. I really don’t think being healthy should take such Herculean effort, just to get paltry results at the end of the day. I don’t think that’s normal or feasible long term. So I’m here looking for help and see if anyone else has been dealing with insulin resistance, how they found out, and what’s been helping and just overall tips and community while I figure this out. Sorry this post got a little whiny towards the end there but either way thanks for having me y'all! Have a good one!
