Hey my (hopefully) healthy friends!

I'd like to introduce myself:

I'm 24 years old from Germany, and I finally found this forum, thanks to Gemini!

I'm mostly using a translator, so I apologize in advance my English isn't quite advanced enough to understand everything on this forum without some help.

I work on a construction site, which can be pretty exhausting, but I manage!

I'm currently taking a GLP-1 Medication and have already lost 8 kg in a month, which I find really impressive. (Actually: 124kg and 1.80m) (Target: 90kg)

I'm looking forward to being part of a great community here and would be happy to answer any questions you might have!

Best regards,

Welcome to the community, Breta! I am very curious about what it's like getting the medication in different countries around the world. Did you have a hard time getting the prescription in Germany? Many of us here in the U.S. can't get our insurance to cover the costs, unfortunately, so that's why many of us are here!

Hi! Thanks so much for the warm welcome

To answer your question: yes, it’s actually a very similar story here in Germany. Public health insurance generally doesn't cover GLP-1 medications when prescribed for weight loss, so most people have to pay completely out of pocket.

At around €300 to €400 per month, official pharmacy prices are way too expensive for many people to sustain long-term.

Because of those high costs, a lot of people end up turning to alternatives like Retatrutide. It costs only 10% of the official GLP-1 price, monthly.

but the catch is that it’s not yet officially approved or available in pharmacies it’s only accessible through the grey market (which is what I personally do as well).

It’s crazy to see how the coverage and cost barriers are pretty much the same issue worldwide.

We're all dealing with the same problems and solutions. 😉
