Hello everyone! I've been on a weightloss journey with various GLP1 injectables, and each of them has eventually started causing me tinnitus and hearing changes that have caused me to stop. The doctors don't really know why this happens, they say it's probably unrelated. However doing my own research I have found some evidence of people with similar side effects here.

Tirzepatide was the worst for this even though as far as weight loss and other side effects, it worked the best.

Semaglutide was tolerable but eventually as time passed it started causing achiness in my body, not just the tinnitus.

I'm currently on retatrutide and everything was going well until a few weeks ago when I started noticing similar symptoms.

Aside from the tinnitus, this class of medication has been a miracle. I also have flat feet and losing weight has been a huge relief for my ankles, feet, and knees. I have more energy and can exercise more. It has been a game changer.

My last hope is Orforglipron, based on my research it's not a peptide but a small molecule that is almost invisible to the immune system. I'm hoping that my body will not react in the same way and my doctor is aligned with me taking it.

Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms or just have positive stories to share?

What a wild journey and welcome to the forums! Im sorry to hear you're having trouble with GLP-1 agonists especially since they've been helping you out so much. (Also, greetings fellow Seattleite!)
 
That's tough and the first time I've heard about the body's immune system growing resistant to sema, tirz, and reta. I hope you find a good long-term solution and let us know if Orforglipron has similar effects immune wise, I'm interested to see if it's just the aminos causing the reaction.
 
I've always understood tinnitus to be a physical damage done to the follicles in your ear that the body isn't equipped to regenerate, and it generally never goes away (when you aren't hearing it, you just aren't noticing it). Very perplexing indeed! Hope things end up working out for you either way.
