Hi all

I'm looking forward to talking with you all and hopefully helping each other out where we can

I'm in my mid 20s and looking to change my life. I am technically quite a bit overweight and this has probably caused some very mild issues for me, though I have made some good changes this year like regular weightlifting and increasing my protein intake. This has fortunately been very consistent

I have let myself go, and I was indifferent about letting myself go until earlier this year. Even now, I sometimes get people telling me "if you did X, you would be great at it" or "if only you picked up X or went to the gym then Y things would be better". In the past, I would not care about these suggestions from people because it felt like they were giving advice to an idealistic version of me in their head that didn't reflect reality, and I felt (at the time) that I was a lost cause. At some point I stopped feeling sorry for myself, and started making some very difficult decisions and realisations about where my life was going, and took some necessary steps to change the course of my life.

Reta and the other healing/recovery peptides seem interesting, and I'll probably ask some questions about them later on, but for today all I want to say here is "hello" 🙂

Totally understand what you’re going through or went through. I use to smoke cigarettes and everyone who doesn’t smoke would say “you should quit” but I didn’t want to, not enough at least. Like I enjoyed the smoking aspect of smoking as well as the mental break that came along with stepping outside to smoke. I worried that if I quit I wouldn’t have those interactions anymore. Sorta like making the commitment to lose weight by eating “healthy” or whatever suggestion someone would make that took away some of my enjoyment. But one day I knew I was tired of smoking and I knew that I really wanted to quit, it was different. It was easy to just stop cold turkey and fight the mental battle vs myself every time I would get the craving. I tell people you want to change you have to REALLY want to change in order to be successful. lol probably doesn’t make much sense but I know there’s a difference between wanting something and really wanting it.. good luck on your journey.

It makes a lot of sense, like you said it only happens once you become tired of something after doing it for a prolonged period of time; if you still see more benefits than negatives in smoking or some other habit then you're not likely to change. Once the scale tips the other way, any negatives or issues become surmountable

Good luck on your journey as well! It seems like you've already had some big wins already 🙂
