Hi from Ireland!

Been on ozempic from the pharmacy since Xmas and lost about 20kg. I wanted to loose some more weight without breaking the bank on the ozempic or wegovy because it was slowing down so I switched to Reta. First dose was 4 mg (4 times the about of wegovy I was on) didint feel much, thought it would be a lot more potent. Just taken my 2nd dose this week and I feel like the ozempic was probably better. Is this normal? Did I get some dodgy stuff 🥴

Hey!

So from my experience with the very brief period on Ozempic, the appetite suppression on reta wasn't as strong, also keep in mind, Reta takes a minute to build up in your system. I've researched it for 12 weeks now and I'm feeling that this is a good spot....lots of areas of improvement other than the weight! Keep on keeping on and we'll get there!

Wow, jumping right to 4mg is bold. Even coming off Sema. Typically, 2mg is the highest starting dose. Reta is really a very different drug than OZ, as Im sure youve read. And as Sailorman stated, it takes 3-4 weeks to get built up during the titration phase, which is why you should not increase quicker than every 4 weeks. The appetite control for Reta isnt as strong, but you get the GIP and Glucogon receptor activation which makes it really very different. Again, 4mg to start is pretty bold. I dont think you will find anyone suggesting you increase at all for 4-6 weeks until it settles in and you see how it goes. Good luck.

started on 2mg a week, split 1mg on Mondays & Thursday, moved up gradually to 6mg now split 3mg & 3mg....so far seeing more positive results but its a marathon and not a sprint and all depends on how I feel. I've added Mots-c into the mix as well but only recently as something to explore. my starting weight was roughly 305lbs for interest sake and I'm currently at 284lbs after 12 weeks.

Edit to add: I'm tracking my estimated levels and progress using an app as well which has been great.
