Hey everyone, Trevor from PA here.

The short version of what brought me here: about a year ago I got lab work back with an LDL of 214 and total cholesterol of 285. Sat in the parking lot staring at that report for a while. I was mostly sedentary, eating like garbage, and headed somewhere I did not want to go. That was my wake up call.

So I got to work. Overhauled my diet (salmon 3x a week, smoothies, hummus and raw veggies instead of junk), started lifting 3 days a week plus some HIIT, and got obsessive about tracking everything. I'm a spreadsheet guy, what can I say.

A year later, working with my cardiologist the whole way, here's the progression:

LDL: 214 to 85 to 67 to 30

Total cholesterol: 285 to 146 to 124 to around 72

Trigs: 115 to 65 to 62 to 65

Full transparency, that's not diet alone. I'm on rosuvastatin, ezetimibe, and Repatha, and the combo plus the lifestyle changes is what got me there. I still pull up that first lab report sometimes just to remind myself where I started. VO2max also went from 31 to over 37 in about six weeks which I did not expect at my age.

Peptides and GLP-1s came into the picture as I got deeper into the metabolic side of all this. I keep my doc in the loop on everything I do. Main things I'm hoping to learn here are how people handle titration and side effects, and how to hold onto muscle while dropping fat. I worked hard for what little muscle I have and I'd like to keep it lol.

When I'm not obsessing over labs I'm usually playing guitar badly (year one, be patient with me), listening to the Dead, or cooking for my daughters.

Glad to be here. Been lurking a while and this place seems like the real deal.

Trevor
