Hey Everyone,
Hope this post finds you all well.
I wanted to start by saying thank you for welcoming me, and for encouraging new members to share.
I’ve read through the posting guidelines, so hopefully this is all above board.
Okay…
I’m writing this introduction from the comfort of my bed, where I’ve spent more time than I’d like this past year, following an accident in May 2025.
I’ve managed to hold down two fairly active jobs, so I tend to spend a lot of time on weekends recovering and missing out on things I used to enjoy.
I’ve been working with some brilliant specialists and physiotherapists and progress has been made but not as much as I’d hoped.
During the last year. I’ve been researching PRP injections for recovery and strengthening of connective tissues but I’ve encountered some speed bumps. Mostly due to the experimental nature of some of these treatments, and the costs associated with overseas practitioners that often exceed 70k.
Alright, so what brings me here?
There are two main reasons I joined this forum.
The first is related to healing connective tissues with targeted GLP-1 therapies.
I’ve done some initial research, but due to the restrictions and limited studies available, I’ve found myself exploring forums and this one seemed like a great resource.
Secondly, the lack of exercise and movement has led to a bit of weight gain and while it’s understandable, I’m finding it difficult to adjust and rather than beat myself up, I’m here to learn how to manage it better and give myself a better chance at recovery.
Although some of my friends and family have had positive experiences, I’ve never used any GLP-1 before, and I’m keen to hear from people who can share experiences like what works/ what doesn’t etc.
So that’s my story so far.
If anyone has any advice for me, or whatever else you think might be helpful, I’m all ears.
Likewise, if anyone is interested in my research regarding GLP-1 and treating weakened or damaged tissues. I’m happy to share those insights once I’ve understood the landscape here a bit more.
Thanks for reading my autobiographical rant. I’m hoping that by this time next month, I will have a better idea on how to move forward with my life, and get back on track before becoming a miserable bastard.
Cheers
