A federal judge sentenced the owner of a peptide company to nearly six years in prison after finding the business deceived customers and sold products that were adulterated with steroids.

They just can't help themselves. This is not a story of a peptide vendor going to jail; it is the story of a vendor that was selling SARMs and mislabeled testosterone 'supplements'. He didn't get in trouble for the peptides, he got in trouble for selling and lying about steriods and SARMs. The fact that he also sold peptides is not really relevant to the charges. I get it, peptides are in the company name, but they are not what he went down for.
 
It's true that Piper was convicted for misbranding and illegally importing/selling drugs, not merely for selling "peptides" ....However, those drugs included peptide medications, and the peptides (particularly sema and tirz) are explicitly part of the criminal conduct described by federal prosecutors.

-Piper participated in importing unapproved, misbranded prescription drugs, including peptides, from China.

-The products were marketed as "for research purposes only" even though the sellers allegedly knew customers were using them personally.

-The government specifically highlights semaglutide and tirzepatide as examples of drugs sold without prescriptions and without required FDA labeling and boxed warnings.

SARM and any sort of anabolic steroids WILL disturb your body to some extent and need good ancillary cares and blood works.

Imagine taking a peptide to improve your skin health only to find out it was damaging your hypothalamus axis, your balls, your thyroid, your blood lipid, your liver (orals can be especially harmful), your kidney and your heart.
 
One of the important things that gets missed any time one of these domestic vendors is raided and shut down (even if there's never any final disposition in court) is that those folks who so value having a domestic source that accepts their precious plastic fail to realize that the authorities now have that vendor's full customer list, products ordered, email communications, etc.

Yup.

even though there is almost zero chance that the customers will face any criminal prosecution consequences, there are a few other ways to face the music...like being revoked certain security clearances.

Yep, careers come to a screeching halt when clearances are revoked, which then dominoes other changes throughout the lives of a whole family.
