Just wanted someone to check my figures..

RT10 mixed with 2ml of bac water - I'm looking for a 1.5 dose using a Convipen - is that 15 clicks?

All the calculators are telling me different things and I can't quite work it out. So I'm just needing someone to help me check my maths :-(
 
2ml = 200 units

200 units ÷10mg = 20 units per mg

1mg = 20 units

1.5mg = 30 units (.3ml)

Or

2ml ÷ 10mg = .2ml per mg

1.5mg * .2ml = .3ml (30 units)

Don't know anything about clicks on your pen.

Search "reconstitution units mg" or the like here on this forum. There's an awful lot of great information here. Read absorb learn.

That's my go to when need be.
 
I understand, keep it simple.

But it's the professor in me. I think everyone doing DIY reconstitution & self injection should, at the very least, be able to calculate their dose, just sayin'.

The math isn't difficult
 
So my R20 Reta Vials contain, according to Janosik 22.6-23.10mg. I am not using them yet but seems that easiest thing would be to reconstitute with 2.3 ml of BAC to give me an even 2mg, 3mg, 4mg, etc pin. BNLFL I used your Cal Injection calculator as an additional source to run numbers.

The numbers can be overwhelming, but isn’t it important to get people thinking about what they’re actually doing instead of just “clicks on a pen”, which may or may not vary per brand? I’m a believer in educating, or else they’ll be back with the next concentration change.

That being said, it did take a weird amount of time until the actual question got answered in general. I like it here better than Reddit, where questions go unanswered for a long time while failed comedians try to get their one-liners in, haha

You’re missing a variable, dose volume

The dose volume on they numbers is going to be wild.

Assuming 23.10mg per 2.3ml of BAC you would have the below...

2mg - 19.91 units

3mg - 29.87 units

4mg - 39.83 units

At these volumes, you could just round up but then your last dose wouldn't be a full dose as your losing a small amount of units per injection. Rounding up to full numbers would mean you lose 10 units on your final injection at each dose.

I personally would just forget the extra Mass and tell myself that the RT20 vials are actually 20mg and recon with 2ml BAC. I would then end up with the below instead.

2.3mg - 20 units

3.45mg - 30 units

4.6mg - 40 units

The additional dose would be so insignificant I wouldn't even notice, but this is my opinion of course, YMMV.

If it's a couple mg or so I mix at the listed mg. I have a bunch of R30 with a 8-9mg over fill. I'll reconstitute that based on the fill amount, as it's almost a R40.

I would do the same in the case of a high overfill like you've had.

If it were anything up to 5mg I'd write it off and pretend it doesn't exist lol

Don't forget to take individual absorption and bioavailability variations into account.

Just joking... under or around 1/10th of the dose I wouldn't even bother to recalculate.
 
Ah I forgot I will be filtering them before use and reading up on filtering currently. Was looking at making some labels for the bottles before going into the freezer and figured might be good to put the Recon/dosing on the Labels.
