Hi fellow peps,

I have noticed an increase in feeling flat, tired, exhausted, extreeme fatigue, very dry skin and just feeling a bit empty.

I am seeing a therapist and doctor etc but this has started amping up since reta, i was on sema before without any issues.

I wonder if anyone has any similar experiences with this?

When did it start?

How bad is it?

How do you cope ?

Only if comfortable with answering. No pressure.

I have searched it but wanted to hear from the community in this forum. Have you heard of that condition ? What is your opinion/thoughts?

Yes, I have felt the flatness a little. Nothing that really bothered me but my emotional response or feelings def different. I think I am adjusting to it.

What do you mean by emotional response and feelings if you don't mind ?

Just less feelings about things that I know I should feel about both good and bad. Kinda like ur a little indifferent about something that should make u really happy or sad. You should be able to pinpoint it. I take a very low dose, 1.8mg , started pinning reta in April. Not sure that has anything to do w it but just saying, my flatness is not horrible and I do not think it changes how I act or react, it does to some degree change how I FEEL about some things a bit.

I don't mind a little modulation of my dopamine signaling. It helps me keep my bad habits in check. It doesn't make me feel down though.

All the symptoms that you have listed can be caused by a lot of other things. First things that come to mind are low calorie intake and lack of sleep.

Reta can blunt dopamine signaling (beyond just food based reward responses).

It’s not only part of the reason people eat less on it, but there’s correlations to people drinking less or smoking less or doing less drugs (or in many cases stoping the behavior(s) all together).

Unfortunately it can lead to that flat kind of feeling you’re experiencing due to blunted reward responses. Anhedonia is possible, and happens a bit, although idk if common is entirely the right word.

Solution: try to find some better dopamine reward systems. Maybe go for a walk in the morning, get some sunlight, stay hydrated, work out, eat healthy. If you have things that are hobbies or that you’re passionate about, leaning into those could be good too—reading, golfing, writing, art, etc. whatever your thing is. Initially it’ll still probably

Feel blunted and less exciting, but hopefully over time your body will adjust?

If you do not need the opinions/thoughts to all be brand new, you can quickly find at least ten threads of people's views on this forum by typing GLP1Chat.com [reta anhedonia] into you favorite search engine.

Probably got it off rip testing. Feel like sometimes emotions cloud our judgements and cause more issues than good. Anhedonia is kind of a silver lining when life kinda gave me a few bad rolls of the dice. I just didnt give two shits. Like im still aware it was a bad roll. But i dont have it weighing me down. Its all in how you look at it i guess. I know i have goals to accomplish and nothing will get in my way. Those heavy feelings of regret or inadequacy or overthinking un general were abandoned on a lonesome road far behind me. Dead weight anyways

Hmm.... i have a sensistve brain, probalby undiagnosed ADHD.

Sema I didn't do more than a few months on/off, because no effect.

On tirz I became very flat (anhedone) on the higher doses around 10-111 mg. It was impossible for me to continue. Life was just grey.

Then I went for reta, (with Cagri for food noise) titrated up, down in tirz, and it all went well until I was at reta high dose for at few months 8 mg, the same anhedonia feeling came back.

I also on reta had so many sugar cravings etc. Tirz was much better in that.

Titrated down to 4-6 mg per week for many months it was almost ok, but slowly the depressed feeling crept in.

Had to stop 3 weeks ago.

My 'depression' lifted and I got more energy.

Along the way, I tried som supplements, but it didn't help. I just lived with it. It didn't help at all to loose the weight, exercise, sleep etc. I was mostly like : who the fuck cares.

Now I'm on cagri, waiting for Elora. 🙂

Some people can be ok on the lower doses.

I'll chip in my ten cents: I have been on Reta since November 2025, and had some notable side effects of which I will share. As a preface- I have CPTSD, and have had depression off and on at times. While I don't suffer from a lack of motivation strictly speaking, it has blunted the dopamine reward aspect for sure. Reading, listening to audio books, or sitting down to watch a show in of itself doesn't really 'do it' for me anymore. I find my focus drifts and I'll often start and stop things, sometimes taking weeks to months to finish something I typically enjoy that my friends will breeze thru in days.

I think Anhedonia is kind of good in a way because I just don't give a crap anymore about things that would usually piss me off or cause me anxiety. I also have no desire to eat a lot of the junk I used to. It does have a lot of downsides though. I have kind of become a recluse. I don't enjoy doing things like I used to. It seems like my loss of motivation has gotten worse these last few weeks. The whole reason I wanted to lose weight in the first place was to have more energy to get things done. I would at least feel a little better if I ate more but I have to force myself to not starve as it is. It's become a vicious cycle and I probably need to do some research on it.

Hello,

I had the same exact symptoms 2 months ago. I’ve been on Reta since March and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was depressed, exhausted, irritated and my anxiety was through the roof. My son suggested I try Selank and it helped a lot. I felt like myself again.

I have a gut feeling (pun intended) that the anhedonia and flatness is somehow linked to the fact that alot of dopamine is made in the stomach. With GLPs slowing down digestion (and less food intake overall) I think this could be linked to mood.

Personally I try to focus on foods with l-tyrosine like chicken, salmon, eggs, yoghurt, as those have been shown to convert to dopamine in the body.

Also as others have suggested, walking, getting sunlight, talking with friends, time with pets etc all help too.

Hope you can find a good balance soon!

I have heard mixed reviews on selank but have some on the way to try. Feeling like shit is not something that is good for us. Sending you positive vibes x

That sounds terrible, I spend most of my time at home also and away from people. I think it may take some time to find ourselves before we had a toxic relationship with food. What do you think?

Do you find anything "does it" for you at all or is it completely blunted ? If you also take any antis, they could be contributing to this.
