My son had me get the Premiere protein Chocolate peanut butter, and it is TASTY, BUT, I think I am lactose intolerant and they sit on the top of my stomach like a ROCK. I just went on a nice long bike ride and as I was sitting on the bench I turned to say something to my hubby and nearly projectiled on him! 🤮. Luckily I swallowed it down and spared him the trauma, but It made me realize, maybe these ones are not the best for me.

I have tried Orgain, and those are dairy free, and probably sit better with me, but the flavors Ive seen are only chocolate and vanilla.. kinda boring.

I know there are TONS of protein drinks out there. What are your faves if you are dairy sensitive? Thanks!

Whey protein isolate is a possibility for most intolerance as it contains very little other than the protein and the various flavours they add, tends to be very low Lactose. Its also a lot more expensive and the plant based proteins are quite a bit cheaper but also tend to be a low ratio of protein per serving.

I'm on the same boat with the GI issues from a lot of protein drinks. I stick to flavorless whey/pea isolate and make my own shakes.

I've been using True Nutrition for a bit. They have an option for you to customize your own flavors and they have a bunch to choose from.

Some people just cant handle large bolus of dairy protein.

I on the other hand can down 90g of yogurt protein in ine go!

Just came to add another vote for Fairlife <3

***Edited to add....You know what protein drinks I have enjoyed recently? Those Oikos yogurt drinks! 23g of protein for like 120 cals!

I was buying nutricost whey for a long time but their prices got ridiculous and stuff was oos, and my most recent order there is a decline in quality. So I need to find a new supplier.

If you find that you are indeed lactose intolerant than dairy protein shakes may not be for you. However, if you're not than may I suggest looking into hydrolyzed whey protein isolate. It tends to be a little bit easier on the gut and absorbs quicker than your regular whey protein isolate

ok, so Hydrolized will be the go to. Helpful to know what to look for! Appreciate you all! Also, the custom powder website was super interesting! I like that you can choose additives, will have to read up on benefits of them @Estarossa19.

Also voting for fairlife. As someone lactose intolerant they’re absolutely the best bang for your buck in terms of calories/protein ratio. And they taste great too.

Luckily, I am not lactose intolerant or sensitive to any of the proteins powders I have tried. I love the Dymatize ISO100 brand, in particular fruity pebbles. YUM!!

Nothing beats a pre-made protein drink for high protein coupled with convenience. I like to switch it up. Boost, Orgain, Adkins… I’m going to look at Fairlife now that I’m seeing it mentioned.

The one word of caution I’d give is that I know I personally drink at least one a day and I’ve seen a lot of reports on plant based protein drinks having a big problem with heavy metals.

Fairlife chocolate the group consensus here - I concur. For a real treat, add a few tablespoons of chocolate pudding mix (sugar free or regular, your choice) and freeze overnight - then process in your Ninja Creami frozen dessert machine. Tastes like a creamier version of Dairy Queen soft serve or Wendy’s Frosty.

I stock up on the 18 packs at Costco when they run their manufacturer’s rebate (every few months) - drops the price from $40 to $32-34.
