Hey all!!

Ive done reta for the last 3.5 months to help with obsessive food noise. I didnt really want to lose weight just stop the food noise so ive been at about 2-2.5mg/week. I still am binging though and have obsessive food noise?

Idk if i should switch to tirz?

My goal isnt to lose weight but just stop the obsessive food thoughts.

Have you actually lost any weight on that low dose of reta? If not, or not much depending on your weight, it is simpler to just try a higher dose of reta first. I am not sure how you can simultaneously get less food noise and binging without eating less and then losing weight though?

Everyone online says tirz is better for food noise and reducing hunger, but given reta causes more weight loss, it really cannot be less effective at reducing appetite, even accounting for a bit of increased energy expenditure from the glucagon agonism.

When I begin my relationship with peptide, I didn't know that it's not good to mix Tirz and Reta. I did both, during 3 monts. I lost 20 pound and it was the best combination for me. I was the kind of person who wake up during the night, 2-3 times, for eat. Because during the night, it dosent count, right? 😉 and during this time, never even wake up for eat. But when I stop to take both of them....Separate, cycling, food noise came back! And I came back to the midnight snack! Good luck to you!

I was on tirz 10mg for 3 months and started slowly replacing it with reta, 1mg at a time. Because it's "better", right?

By the second week I noticed the food noise and appetite had returned with a vengeance. I hung in there but by week 4 (6mg tirz+ 4mg reta) I decided to reverse course. Now that I'm back to 10mg tirz, appetite and food noise are mostly gone. Imma gonna stick to tirz for a while, I'm losing weight and that's the most important thing for me.

Actual data would show it's by far Reta

Perhaps so. Just an opinion only from my usage of Sema and Reta. I was doing Microdose of Sema 0.6 and I guess right now I am what you would call Microdosing Reta 0.5. For me the Sema quieted food noise a good bit even at that low dosage starting early, and oddly kind of killed my sweet tooth. So far after 3 pins of Reta has not quieted any food noise. Again this is just my observation so far of using the two. I know each person reacts differently. The Reta may start to quiet the noise as I go up in dose but right now nothing.

Friday 7.5mg Tirz and Tuesday 3mg Reta for me. Plenty of people here use both in various combinations. You need to find what works or you.

For food noise, Tirz seems like the obvious choice.

Most people report that Tirz is better at appetite suppression, at least in the beginning. Marked appetite suppression typically arrives within 24 hours after the first dose.

I've read that Reta's appetite suppression kicks in once you've reached higher doses like 4mg weekly. This wait can be very frustrating for impatient people like me who want to see instant results.

.6 mg of sema is 1/4 of the max dose and .5 mg of Reta is 1/24 of the max dose. You were taking way more Sema than you are Reta

Why take one of these for food noise? Both are designed for weight loss. Tirz is a GIP/GLP-1 and Reta is a triple with GIP/GLP-1 and Glucagon.

Actual data on food noise specifically? I’ve looked at the TRIUMPH-1 data and while there is a lot of great information, there is nothing that indicates Reta is “far better” than Tirz at reducing food noise. In fact, evidence leans the opposite direction. Data shows Reta IS far better for maximum weight loss if you can tolerate it. Food noise, not so much.

It's fine to take both. Many people do. If you want the glucagon part of reta but also want more food noise suppression then tirz bolsters that.

Personally I went with Tirz.

My reasoning was if I stalled and could no longer benefit I would bring out heavier artillery with the Reta.

Keep in mind at the time Reta was significantly more expensive as well.

There are too many unsubstantiated variables to be certain my decision was correct, but I am about 17 months into maintenance and have not needed to look into anything else.

My 27% loss was sufficient to hit goal as well.

At the least, you can probably assume your decision wasn't wrong. 😂
