Robinhood Chain Network help

I made a purchase through Robinhood (sending ETH to vendor) and when confirming the purchase it gave me the option of the Ethereum Network or Robinhood Chain Network.

I chose the Ethereum Network and the transaction came back as failed.

I chose to try the Robinhood Chain Network and received a message saying 'COMPLETED'. I screenshot the image, send it to the vendor and ask them to confirm. They didn't receive it. For 2 hours this vendor and I went back and forth trying to figure out where this ETH is.

I still have no answers. I did find something about a 'bridge' that states the funds are locked in a 7-day challenge period.

Can anyone offer some clarity on what may be going on and if there is any chance me/the vendor can find/recoup the ETH here?
 
If they weren't expecting it on Robinhood Chain Network, then that money is gone. Did they say which chain they were expecting the payment on (often it's ethereum, solana, or tron)?

Money isn't gone but it's gonna be a pain in the ass for the vendor since they'll have to bridge.

Vendor will have to import the seed phrase of whatever wallet you sent to into a wallet that supports Robinhood chain, and then they'll have to bridge to ETH (you will probably need to send some extra funds to vendor for fees). Since Robinhood chain is relatively new, not all wallets support it so the funds won't show up.

Thank you for responding. It was expected on the ethereum. That process failed when I tried to send it which is why I chose the robinhood chain.

Thanks. After spending hours and hours reading through all the crypto threads that list using multiple sources and making 2, 3, 4 transfers back and forth I was excited to see how easy robinhood had made the process. Guess not so much. ☹️

This is true, but this assumes the vendor will care to do that

Crypto addresses are generated from (typically) a 12-word seed phrase. These are generated or imported usually through an app like Metamask, Base, Exodus, Rabby, Phantom, and depending on the app they may or may not support Robinhood network. They need to take their seed phrase from the address you sent the funds to and import it into an app that does support it, for sure I know Rabby does. Robinhood also has a wallet app that will obviously support the network, but this is not the same as the Robinhood service app.

It'll be kind of a pain to get them to do this but for sure funds are not lost.

Do the funds just sit until they are claimed or is there a time period where they may be returned perhaps? If the receiver doesn't claim them then what happens?

There's no claiming, once tokens are sent it's final.
