Hi,

So it appears that one of my orders to Canada has been either taken by Customs or Lost/Stolen by the final mile courier. Cant really get a definitive answer from my rep and I only have access to a 17track number that says it was given to another company and an E-Mile tracking number that says they never received it. Rep said she checked with logistics company, and whatever they said led her to believe the package will not be showing up.

Anyways, I was given what sounds like the usual options;

-Pay 50% of my order and they will reship. No guarantee that whatever happened wont happen again.

-Get 30% of my order payment returned and eat the other 70%

What have people usually been doing when this happens? do most Just move on? do Most pay the re-ship? Anyone had both the shipment and re-ship not make it? Anyone with specific Canada experience, I would appreciate hearing how it went.

I wouldn't call those the usual options. I have had two orders not show up and my options were free re-ship or full refund. I had one re-shipped and it showed up. The other one I chose a refund.

May need to look for better suppliers...

Don't know for sure, but I believe the reps are not giving the same options to our Canadian brethren due to how often the shipments are seized. I have heard its pretty bad up there.

Yes, company dependant for sure.

It was a sorta roped into it situation where I ordered from the local warehouse, and same day they came back to say the local warehouse could not ship so I could get it from China or wait an undetermined amount of time for them to get their Canadian warehouse back up.

Thought China would be an OK option at the time. Big mistake I guess.

The rep did tell me the 50% payment thing for seizures before the order was finalized, but said they had a really good success rate and not to worry. I am not super sure it was a seizure. The rep has only offered 2 options. Hindsight is 20/20.

They have been great to deal with for the local warehouse orders. Won’t be doing anything from China with them ever again though.

I am aware different countries probably get different re-ship policies. That is why I am interested in hearing from fellow Canadians.

Not too sure if it makes a difference, but order was over $600USD, so almost a $1000 Canadian after conversion fees and everything. Would be almost $500 to re-ship. So would be a good chunk of change to have it re-shipped and nothing arrive again.

Just wondering what the likelihood of that happening might be.

When they told you the Canadian warehouse couldn't fulfill the order did they offer a refund? Or did they just say wait for the warehouse or get from China?

I'd guess that the item was never in the Canadian warehouse to begin with. Bait and switch but with payment collected between. There might not even be a Canadian warehouse.

They just gave the 2 options- China or Wait.

I did not aggressively ask for a refund though.

They definitely did have a Canadian warehouse. Got a few successful orders through there, and they were smooth transactions.

I do think she knew the Canadian warehouse was shut down when she took the payment, and that it would have to come through China. For sure a bit of a bait and switch.

I will toss up a review of fully what happened when I qualify to write it. I think its important for people (especially Canadians) to know how they deal with sales and issues from the China warehouse.

The first gray order I made was from a China warehouse. Got stopped by customs and I was offered reship or refund. I took refund. Since then I only order from US warehouse and have had no problems.

I’ve found none of the USA warehouses will ship to Canada. Have you ordered anything recently?

Getting orders shipped from China to Canada has always been more challenging than from China to the US, and most vendors' re-ship policies are either more restrictive or outright non-existent as a result.

I usually recommend anyone in Canada who has had a package from China intercepted or returned find an alternative means such as having orders shipped to a package agency on the US side of a border crossing. I realize not everyone lives within an hour of a border crossing, but often planning a day trip or having a friend close to the border help out is usually far more likely to result in receiving an order than trying the direct route over and over again.

I don't know why I hadn't considered shipping to a parcel service in the US. I live 15 minutes from the border so this might be a good idea.

I guess I would still be worried about an inspection at the border though

What did you end up doing? I would have chucked it up as a loss and never ordered from them again.

Nothing as of yet. I am not too interested in giving them any more money for a re-ship from China.

Their claim is a new Canadian warehouse to open soon (I believe their previous one was shut down by Health Canada and the RCMP)

I will give it a month. If the new Canadian warehouse is open by then, I will pay the 50% to get it shipped from there. If they dont have it open, I will just take the 30% refund.

I don't think you want to smuggle peps across the border, it's one thing to order something that gets seized. A whole different thing to get inspected and they log you. It will just be an annoyance everytime you cross the border. Imo.

A Canada warehouse does exist, but fairly recently it's has issues with fulfillment, so depending on when you ordered it could've legitimately been shut down before they could get an order in. Also I've seen the back online date constantly change so they must've thought it would be operational before they got the indefinite notice.

Yeah seems like a much larger risk.

The one time I went across the border to get a package and back 2 hours later (not peps, it was clothing), they totally ransacked my car on the way back - was a 26 year old female, no criminal record, etc.

I would rather have a package seized then risk at the border.
