I’ve yoyoed with my weight all my life. Even losing 60 pounds naturally at one point. I started Reta the first week of June and have lost 27 pounds since then. The most surprising thing has been that I have noticeably lost fat in my face.

Anytime I’ve ever lost weight, my face was always the last place to start showing weight loss, but with Reta, this is the first place and I’ve been pleasantly surprised.

Just curious if others are experiencing similar scenarios.

There some studies to this but typically males gain weight from bottom to top and lose weight from top to bottom. Kinda like opposite of FIFO. Of course you mentioned that previously it was the other way around for you but typically the face usually loses fat first thats why sometimes you see someone who looks like they lost a lot of weight because their jaws start showing up but under the shirt they are still fluffy.

There are a pile of studies about it, which I cannot really help you with as I have not read them , but I did notice they exist so it might be worth looking it up. Ozempic face is the usual term for it, the patterns/locations of fat loss with glp drugs is not always the same as with weight loss from dieting, and from the number of studies on it is must be a pretty common issue. I definitely have more fat loss on my face than has ever happened from dieting , even at more or less exactly the same weight I had got to a decade ago.

27 lbs in ?6 weeks is fairly quick, assuming say 7 lbs is water weight then 20/6 is 3.3/week, not a major issue. The main risk from extra fast weight loss is gallstones which can affect up to 10% if the weight loss is fast enough, and of course just feeling awful, tired and faint. But if you are feeling fine with that rate of loss , then congrats and good luck.

Yeah I’ve actually been feeling great, however, this last week I decided I should try and slow my weight loss down so I upped my calories from the previous weeks and only lost about 2 pounds this last week which I feel like long term is safe, and will hopefully keep me out of the water with the gallstones.
