What’s been your experience switching from triz?

I’ve been thinking of trying ret. I’m on 8mg of trizepatide rn and I’m wondering what’s been your experience switching over? What dose did you switch from? What dose did you start at? Did you have any issues? How did they compare? Pros and cons?
 
I was on tirz 10 mg for maintenance after losing significant weight. But couldn't lose the last 5 pounds that I wanted to. Titrated tirz down and reta up and happy with the results. Now taking tirz 5 mg and reta 6 mg weekly.
 
Reta didn't work well for me. I know it has for many other people, so I have great respect for it and plan to make another go at it someday. But Reta didn't provide the appetite suppression that I'd become accustomed to, and it gave me an unpleasant side effect called allodynia when I increased my dose. I ended up moving back to Tirz and continued losing weight. I still take 1mg of Reta per week, just for old time's sake.
 
I am making the switch now as I approach maintenance weight, titrating down on Tirz and onboarding Reta simultaneously. Tirz is just too strong, even at 5mg I have zero appetite and have to force myself to eat. I'm hoping Reta will be a bit easier, I wouldn't mind having a bit of a desire to eat again, I am hoping that it will just help me get fuller faster. We shall see.

I have a huge supply of Tirz in the freezer, plus I now get Zepbound prescribed, so if Reta doesn't work out...well I still have plenty of Tirz.

Well, technically RET is supposed to be more powerful than TRIZ. TRIZ is a double hitter, and RET is a triple hitter. Maybe something like Ozympic could be better since it’s only a 1-hitter.

I used Tirz since August 2026 uf to November 2026, I lost about 10Kg during these 4 months, then I decided to move to Reta, mainly because when I tried to titrated from 5mg/w to 6mg/W (or more), some side effects rose (mainly digestive side effect).

I started with 1mg/w increasing Reta 1mg every 2 weeks, and in the meanwhile decreasing Tirz 1mg every 2 weeks. When I arrived to 5mg/w of Reta my weight loss stalled, so I decided to move up to 6mg/w, but again side effects were back (mainly diarrhoea), I had very bad days fighting with side effects. So I had to change something absolutely.

In the last weeks I decided to use 5mg every 6days, and up to now it seems that is working fine, in the mean time I added a very small dose of Cagri (0.125mg in the same days).

Diarrhoea is under control, maybe also because I added Psillium to my diet.

I will continue with 5mg/6d until it will work fine.
