Will Tesa water weight subside?

Almost 5 weeks into 2mg Tesa daily with a large caloric deficit, yet scale keeps going up.

Also on 2mg Reta and started 5mg daily creatine the same time I started the Tesa.

I’ve added 8 pounds. IDK how much of that is from Tesa or Creatine.

Weird part is I don’t really have swollen feet, hands or face. It’s almost like it’s not there visually, but the scale says otherwise.

Any idea when it will stop accumulating, or do I need to stop Tesa for that to happen?

Is blood pressure same/good?

Personally, since eight pounds of water weight is not ideal for the vascular system, I would consider lowering the dose to 1 mg (maybe after testing IGF-1 and fasting insulin, A1C, and/or fasting blood glucose) or taking a break completely. Some people do "five days on, two off" in the hopes of reducing fluid retention.

Regarding the lack of visible edema:

The reason you don't visually see typical swelling in your face or ankles is likely because GH/IGF-1 strongly promotes intracellular (intramuscular) hydration. The water is being pulled straight into the muscle bellies, making them full rather than spilling over into doughy peripheral edema.

Your muscles are absorbing the heavy brunt of it (~5 lbs), while your vascular system is only holding onto a fraction of a pound—but that tiny fraction is all it takes to shift your blood pressure metrics.

At this stage, the fluid is highly unlikely to stop accumulating or drop on its own without making a direct change to the protocol.

I had blood work done right before I started and everything looked good. I did edit my original post to add that I started 5mg creatine daily the same time I started Tesa. Not sure if 8# is still crazy considering it could be from both creatine and Tesa?

it is my understanding that Tesa takes about 4 weeks to start showing results, in the 2nd month it is supposed to subside, then as you go into the 3rd month it should start going off. Creatine absolutely will make it so you retain water as well. Everything I havee read on Tesa basically said not to focus on the scale, and only focus on areas of visceral fat superficially. Might try easing up on the creatine for a few days and see if it trends in the other direction.

If you stop, the water will go away. If you stay on it, it could also go away after a few months. Best thing you can do is get a smart scale to at least separate lean mass from fat mass when weighing yourself.

If you've gone up 8 lbs I doubt thats just water retention.

How's your daily activity? Food and sodium intake?

You might wanna bump up that reta too.

Diet is excellent. 1500 calories or less per day. Gram of protein per body weight, low carbs and fats.

I’ve been lifting and getting stronger too.
