This is an interesting article on the latest COVID research and it's effects on the brain. While it is no longer making headlines, researchers are still trying to determine what changes where made to the brain due to COVID infection. Residual brain fog from two bouts of COVID is what motivated me to start this aspect of my personal research.

Brain scans reveal widespread structural and functional changes in patients following COVID-19 infection

A systematic review of 49 imaging studies highlights how COVID-19 affects the human brain. Researchers found widespread structural and functional changes in areas responsible for memory, emotion, and attention, providing insight into enduring neurological symptoms like brain fog.

I haven't seen long term brain issues around me, but several who have had permanent hearing loss, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac issues all directly tied to serious runs with COVID. It hasn't gone away, either, my state is one experiencing a resurgence of COVID right now.

Interesting article. Thanks for sharing!

Maybe it's covid that has caused my fatigue, inner ear problem, and overall mushy brain 🤣.

I've been blaming it on cagri.

We have had at least 12 waves of Covid now, most of them since it "ended" and people are still ending up with Long Covid and other consequences from the disease. There is no sign its stopping, its still doing at the very least a summer and winter wave. There are about 500,000 scientific papers on Covid and Long Covid now and every last one showing all the ways Covid is bad for us, none of them showing infection with it is a good idea!

I have Long Covid, got it from the first wave in 2020. Its been a complete nightmare. Lots of people around me aren't aware of the damage Covid does and you can see they are suffering in various ways, often neurologically. Its done real damage to people ignoring this disease and I wish more people were protecting their health.

Based on that research, it certainly could be. The one thing that's clear to me, is that there was a me before covid and a different me afterwards. One of the differences is brain fog and concentration and I've been working on it ever since. It's almost like ADHD, but different, with onset in my 60s. Weird.

All kidding aside, I think I've had a mental change, but I have been relating that to peptide use rather than due to covid. Now I'm going to have to look into that.

One thing that helped for me is modafinil. On the days that I have taken it (which isn't many), I've gotten so much work done, my mind has been crystal clear, and I've felt fantastic. I'm just afraid to take it for a variety of reasons. I've actually cut the pill in 1/2 and it was fantastic. My mind hasn't been this clear in 2 years.

I've heard good things about Modafinil and will look into it. I've run 3 cycles of Epitalon, and am running NA Epi Amidate right now. I also ran P21 IN for a month and also tried Noopept and Piracetam recently. They all seem to have their positive effects, but only for as long as as they last. With peptides being signalling molecules, the signalling lasts as long as they remain active. I've come to the conclusion that none of them really offer any permanent effects. I'll just have to work around that and determine what will work for me on a semi-regular basis.

I feel so seen here. Like both of you @Grogu and @Chili777, I remember when I didn't have this complete brain cloud every day and I could actually focus and think. Work is such a struggle and all I want is to not be tired (hours and quality of sleep don't seem to make a difference) and to be able to concentrate on getting my work done. I'd love to try Modafinil, but I'm worried it would work perfectly and I'd want to use it every weekday, at least. There has to be something less potent but that gives some lift. I picked up a kit of Semax last year in the hopes that might help, but didn't notice anything after about 2 weeks, except a very dry nose.

I feel this is very related to my COVID from 4 years ago. My WBC count has been low since then, and although my PCP is monitoring it, he says I don't need medication yet. It's why I've been taking KPV daily now, and TA-1 2x/week, as I want to do as much as can to lower inflammation and improve my anti-inflammatory response to illness.

Motivation also suffers from this. When I get to the gym, I'm good to go, but the energy it takes to get me there is a mental workout unto itself.

I mean as much as a love good nap with my cat, it sucks that every day when I wake up, my first thought is when I can get that nap in later. 😹

I like Semax, but it takes 1 mg, either SQ or IN, to kick in. I find Adamax is much better, but the cycle time is 30 days max and by the end of two weeks, my receptors are already getting dull and I move up from 350 mcg to 500 mcg. And what do you do the rest of the time when you're washing out? P21 and Adamax together is a great combo, and I'll keep doing that, but you have the same cycle constraints.

I found a link to a Modafinil guide below. It looks like it's primary effect is concentration, with some motivational lift. It's 5 days on/2 days off with a one week wash out with extended use, and choline supplementation is a must. It's also not cheap, but I'll check into it.

Appreciate the guide as I hadn't heard about the choline thing, but will definitely look into that.

As far as the cost, I was able to buy it pretty inexpensively. The issue for me is more that it may interact with one of my other medications, which I kind of why I'm using it sparingly. I wish I could take it every day as it's that good for what I'm struggling with.
