Yaaaaay finally a post I have a lot to contribute too!!
I’m obsessed either way skin and youthfulness (trying to maintain/recapture anyway) so I have a fair bit of personal experience, although less from the peptide side of things and more from products and procedures. This information has been given to me by professionals doing a lot of my treatments.
TREATMENTS
Okay so - skin needling. This can depend on your age. Skin needling works best in your 20’s when you’re just starting to get those lines appearing. It can take a few sessions (usually minimum of 3) to see much difference, and the more pronounced your lines are the less you’ll be able to notice. I had a bunch of sessions done in my mid 20’s, I wasn’t overly blown away by the results and had my HIFI nurse tell me once you reach 30, it’s basically a waste of money.
HIFU - omg how I love my HIFUs! Non invasive frequency pulses that hurt like hell while it’s getting done, but gone pretty much once the session is over. HIFU tightens your skin a lot, helping with skin sagging, lines, dropping etc. and you only need one session every 12-18 months.
Hydro microdermabrasion - much cheaper instant result type of thing. Non painful and you walk out with your skin looking amazing. Doesn’t last terribly long though, if you’re committed you’d be getting these every month or so. I’d do it in conjunction with light therapy depending on your skin type.
Botox - preventative Botox all the way! I only get it maybe 1-2 times a year, I don’t have lines other than smile lines, and at 33 I’m happy with that. So many people think Botox is what you get when you’re older, but it works best as a prevention for the formation of lines.
PRODUCTS
I’m of the same opinion - Korean beauty is where it’s at right now!! I recently overhauled my entire skin care routine and noticed how much better my skin is looking in a short time. Again, products are really going to depend on your skin type, concerns, sensitivity etc, so it’s hard for me to recommend anything without knowing that. For lines though, the GOAT (in other people’s opinion - too full on for my skin) is prescription Tretanoid cream. You’ll need to ask your dr for a script. I’d google this one as I didn’t get to experience the benefits from it (my skin is crazy sensitive, even using this every third day).
What I’m currently using is
- Anua rice and ceramide cleansing powder. This stuff is amazingggg, evens out your skin tone so well and has a very gentle exfoliate benefit.
- Hyaluronic acid with SNAP8 (which is a peptide). There’s a few posts on this already. I’ve noticed a reduction in my smile lines since using this.
- Matrixyl. I use the Lab in Nature brand.
- Copper peptide serum. A lot of people make their own, I’m still going off my last store bought bottle (Clear Skincare brand, but once it’s done I’ll be making my own)
Last but definitely not least, every second night I use Medicube PDRN pink collagen exosome shot. Feels like it has tiny pieces of glass in it when you apply to your face and neck (weird I know) but my lingering red patches and breakout cleared up quick smart, and it’s helping with the smile lines too.
PEPTIDES
GHKCu - I did a course of GHKCu (as glow/klow blend). Wasn’t overly blown away, didn’t really notice a lot of difference, but because of my age I don’t think collagen depletion is coming from a lack of copper. I also use it topically, so I probably won’t bother with another SubQ cycle.
SNAP8 - mentioned above. You can also get powder rather than freeze dried vials. I’m still having fun experimenting with this one.
Glutathione - I’ve only just started a cycle so haven’t experienced first hand the skin benefits, but apparently it has a skin ‘whitening’ effect and clears up skin pimples/blemishes/makes your skin nicer over all.
Hope some of this was helpful!!!
