I'm hoping that I don't have to go much over the 3mg. I struggled to compute the equivalent human doses from the rat study, but I think it was the max dose equivalents of both tirz and Elora,. If so, I understand why the rats didn't eat for a week....Even on these low doses, I have not much interest in eating.
 
There's only one vendor who has paid for and posted full tests so far, according to Jano.

I also have the same question. Because the current price is about 170 USD for 10x 5mg Vials. This is expensive. When you need 3mg per pin, that's 15 USD. It's insane. Whereas you use just 25 mcg of Cagri. So even a 5mg vial last a long time.

Yes, cagri is pretty inexpensive compared to elora, but I think you meant 250 mcg, right? 25 mcg would be a pretty small dose.

As far as Elora, to me it's about early access as the cost will likely go down, if (and when), more sources are able to reliably produce the product. It will happen, it's just a matter of how long it will take. But even with the current high prices, it's still "better" than anything we'd ever see in the pharma space or even compound. So to me, to have early access to this new medication is pretty cool.

Eloralintide was designed to be more targeted and to elicit fewer side effects. They are both amylin agonists.

What @Spork said and I would add that eloralintide also has a substantially longer half-life than cagri.

Cagrilintide’s reported half-life is about 7–8 days, with peak concentrations occurring one to three days after injection. Eloralintide’s half-life is closer to two weeks, and it may not reach peak concentrations until approximately three to five-and-a-half days after injection.

This longer half-life means that eloralintide should theoretically produce a flatter weekly concentration curve, more accumulation from one weekly dose to the next, a slower apparent onset, and a substantially slower washout after stopping. The more targeted AMY-1 activation and the relatively stable concentrations are most likely why eloralintide may have less side effects than cagrilinitide. Finally, elora is a much more complex molecule than cagri, which makes the peptide more difficult to manufacture.

Interesting. I had enough of an allergic reaction to Cagri (not anaphylaxis but obvious allergic reaction x2 ) that Elora also gives me pause now, but I'm still intrigued.
